access to ftp from internet

Hi
I am using slackware 10.0 and i make a ftp server with vsftpd but it works on only local network how can i make it accessible for internet?
Note:i am using vsftpd with standalone(no xinetd)

Does your server have a public IP address?

If not, how does it connect to the internet?

i am connected by adsl may be it's a problem about virtual server

you need to set your router up for port forwarding (if you have a router).
