about proxy firewall

in my interview they asked me what is the proxy firewall and what is the stateful firewall.what is the difference.

Proxy firewall

Microsoft's ISA is an example of a proxy firewall.

Stateful firewall

Iptables and PF are examples of stateful firewalls.
