About lan card RTL8139

I have a pc, run in Redhat9 2.4.20-8.But I have no way to installthe Lan card Rtl8139 software.
I had tried many times. what can i do ?

the problem is ok!
command line:# modprobe 8139too
but every time I am in command line,up lan card ,then in kde .

Add an alias command to the /etc/modules.conf file
alias eth0 8139too

Assuming you only have one adapter installed in the computer. As already stated is there a reason you need to use an obsolete distribution?
