About dialup in ISDN
Hello,
Well I am having some troublesome with an ISDN connection. I am not familiar with that but I am trying to figure things out. As I have noticed in the network there is a modem (I think this is not very true about ISDN) and after a 16-port hub. I think that hub is distibuting ip adresses automatically, right? The network uses win2000 in general but I intend to use at first live CD like knoppix. My question is whether the ISDN modem dial's up at start up like a DSL modem. I know that in p2p networks with DSL modem and router there is no problem with live CDs. Is it ok with ISDN? Another problem is that I think only one channel works (B channel). HOw can I control the other one? SO is there a site to find out more about ISDN in general. Thanks for any help. |
Seeing Fedora in your sig You might get an idea from this even though it is extremely old. http://www.redhat.com/docs/manuals/l...de/ch-ppp.html
I would goto http://www.google.com/linux and search for ISDN. It is where I found this one. I had ISDN along time ago and have forgotten much about it. Never used under Linux though. I used it under OS/2 Warp. I was using a 3com external. I can't remember how the dailer called Injoy2 in OS/2 handled it. I do remeber setting it up to bring on the second B channel after a period of heavy download speed. I was able to make use of the D channel with it as well. So I ended up with an 8k B channel, 8K B channel, and 2k D channel speed connection for 18k max. |
OK Thanks I will try that!http://linuxquestions.cachefly.net/i...lies/smile.gif
