3G data card in ubuntu 10.04 is not getting connected

Hi,

I'm trying to connect the Reliance 3G data card in Ubuntu 10.04. I've done modprobe then make settings in /etc/wvdial.conf with username and password field as empty string. But when I'm trying to connect with sudo wvdial it is showing that "Modem is not responding" and exit.
However, the same procedure with Reliance netconnect+ which take a username and password, working well.

Please help. Does 3G needs some settings?

Thanks

What do you enter as username/passwd in the netconnect+? I (mobile orange internet, huawei e220) found some standard username and password on the web (both being "web") via google.

jothan.

jothan.
I've used my Reliance number as username and password for netconnect+. But in case of 3G since it does not need any username/passwd in Windows, I found someone posted it as empty string for the etc/wvdial. Unfortunately, it is not working for me. Problem could be with something else instead of username/passwd.
