2wire usb network adapter with Red Hat Linux 9.0

I know this may have been discussed before, but I did not find any answers and don't know if anyone may have solved this problem yet. I jsut installed Red Hat Linux 9.0 to double boot on my computer with Windows XP and I use the 2Wire PC Port Phoneline 10-Mbps USB Adapter (mmm.2wire.com/home/pop/2w_pcport.html => mmm = www) to connect to the net. I can't get it to work to connect to the net. I found some drivers for general HomePNA support on linux here:

::home.eznet.net/~rlmsmw/hpna/ :::

I haven't tried it yet but I'm not even sure if I'm on the right track. If anyone know how I might be able to modify the driver there to work with USB, please let me know. Any kind of help would be greatly appreciated.

OK! I had this problem with Mandrake (for some reason it thinks the adaptor is a scanner).

I'm gonna assume you have the Home network 1200/1250. If so, connecting your linux box to it via ethernet will give you a net connection almost gauranteed. Works with my comp every time. I'm using Mandrake 9.2 so your results may vary a bit. Now i just have to wait till we get Panther on the G4 or the drivers for Panther so we can use the PC Adaptor with the G4 and have the 1200 in my room :D

The problem is that I can't connect to the ethernet port because it's already in use and the homeportal router is not in my room. I'm stuck with using the USB connector that does not work with linux. Any one know how to ge tthis to work?
