2 x Subnets 2 x DHCP Authority?
I got a quick question. I'm setting up a small network with VoIP phones and a Linux box. The phones run of 10Mbps CISCO switch and the Linux box along with the Windows XP Pro machines will be running of 1000Gbps switch. The Linux box is configured as follows:
Slackware-current: Samba, DHCPD, DNS, NAT 1 x NIC IP Cfg on one LAN IP: 192.168.0.32 Mask: 255.255.0.0 GW: 192.168.1.1 DNS: 192.168.0.32 Range 192.168.0.100/175 I have a Linksys Wireless Router, disabled the Wireless, with the following IP config: DHCPD IP: 192.168.1.1 Mask: 255.255.0.0 Range 192.168.1.100-200 My DSL goes through the router and i hope i got my Routing Table setup properly to use it as a gateway. My question is can i make the Slackware box authoritative DHCP Server for the XP machines and the router authoritative DHCP Srv for the VoIP phones. Is there such an option. I heard Windows 2003 has something in their wizards, not quite sure if that's true. My main concern is the QoS of the network and the VoIP signal that's why i was thinking to have two routers on one network but different segments. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. |
