Question 2 servers but same user and password

Hello every one, i got a question about user name and passwd
between 2 server

i got 2 server, whichb i'd to set it to be a mail server and web server.

but the problem is i'd like to make these 2 server haev same user account and passwd, which means if i change passwd or add, delete user in server A, all user name and passwd in server B should be the same as Server A

is it possible to do that?, and what i have to do?

thank you

It's possible, you could use NIS or LDAP. LDAP is your best bet though, as NIS I have read, is a bit buggy and not as secure as LDAP.

A google search should get you well on your way....

Lightbulb One other alternative

I agree with mychl about nis. I once tried using NIS authentication; worked but periodically seemed to go wacko on me, so I went back to the old way.

LDAP is probably the way to go, but I've had a hard time getting it to work. Maybe when I get a round tuit I'll try again .

If you have trouble or don't want LDAP, another option is Using RSYNC and SSH .

Good luck!
