Unhappy 2 NICs

Another newbie trying hard to get this linux stuff going.
This is the question to anyone who can help me:

Redhat 9 with two nics:

this is un-trusted and connected via a cross cable to a router with ip which is connected to the internet.

eth0: trusted, my LAN and connected to a single PC with ip

From the linux box i can browse the internet and ping ip's in the internet, no problem.

I can also ping the following ip's from the linux box:,,,

From the PC ( i can ping, and which is the linux box, however i cant ping (router) or anything on the internet.

The default gateway of the linux box is which is the router.

I have killed all iptables stuff and there are no other firewalls running.

I have tried adding routes, changing default gateways on both and etc etc

please help
