2 NICS, 2 IP adresses.... howto?

I have setup a Fedora Core 2 server. I would like to have 1 NIC using a static IP. This static IP will be my web server, ftp, email server etc and firewall. The other NIC will be connected to my linksys router using dhcp.

Is it possible to have the NIC with static IP be used for web server, ftp, mail server and shh? While the other NIC using dhcp from Linksys router just be used for surfing the internet etc?

Am I thinking to hard about this? I have seen setups where 1 NIC is the public address. The other nic is connected to a hub where other PCs use the LInux box as a gateway.

Yes, you solved the question your self. Unless your provider had given you 2 static ip then only one card is visible to the world. The other would be used for internal traffic as a gateway.
