2 gateways into 1 netbsd server

Hi

This is my first post so hello everybody.I'm a CCTV network engineer and i need some advise on how to setup a static route on a NetBSD NVR.

The NVR's current IP setup is 172.19.70.11/23 GW 172.19.70.6 this routes out via the company's wan(all working this route).I have a 2nd router 172.19.71.210 that's connected to the internet.I want to be able to have dual connection to the NetBSD server from both routers so i can carry out maintenance directly from the internet router 172.19.71.210 as the 172.19.70.6 gateway i don't have direct access too this is for client use only and is currently fully operation via this gateway. How can this be setup?I have already tried the route commands below but no joy as yet..

route add -net 172.19.70.11 netmask 255.255.254.0 gw 172.19.71.210 wm0
route add -host 172.19.70.11 gw 172.19.71.210 wm0

I get errors saying bad gw and bad netmask.

What i'm i doing wrong? Please advise i know you experts can sort this!!!!!

Many Thanks

my suggestion you can try, just make the thing work with easy way
first you need to have linux pc with 2 network card
for the eth0 set ip for first network with thier gateway - > to the first network switch
for the eth1 set ip the second network w/o gateway -> to the second network switch

so from this pc you can go both line without any probolem

i hope this will help for temporary unless you happy with this way

Hi Routers

Thanks for your reply
This isn't an option as i'm using an Intel gt1000 NIC to give me the throughput i need.I have problems using the on board NIC's making the netbsd server reboot.I would like a solution just using the wm0 NIC in the server only.

Many Thanks
