I compiled 2.6.11 kernel but my network configuration stopped working.. dhclient is unable to obtain IP address from DHCP server. with 2.6.10 this works fine
I used the same kernel config to compile 2.6.11 as I did for 2.6.10
anybody else experiencing this - or knowing how to fix this?
thanks

Make sure you're querying the correct interface. When I recompiled my kernel one time, it switched my eth0 and eth1 interfaces on me. Never did figure out why.
Originally posted by michal017 I am using debian unstable and dist-upgrading almost every day so it should be the latest version
I'm not really familiar with Debian and its dist-upgrade. I build all pakages from source so I know exactly what I'm installing and where its going. I did have trouble with my dhclient when I upgraded my kernel last year. I had to upgrade dhclient to V3.0. Can you check your version? Do you have any other verbose information?
