'Network host is busy' message in CUPS

Hi
Installed SUSE 10.2 on laptop, all working well apart from network printer.
Printer attached to Synology Diskstation, accessed as \\192.xxx.xxx.xxx\usbprinter from XP desktop.
Installed on laptop using CUPS

I assume CUPS "sees" the printer because localhost:631\printers shows:

Description: Laser
Location:
Make and Model: Kyocera Mita FS-1010
Printer State: processing, accepting jobs, published.
Device URI: http://xxx.xxx.xxx.3:631/ipp/
However, I can't print using the printer and get the error message above.

Any ideas?

Thanks

'Network host is busy' means just that.
So here are some thoughts:
Is the printer connected to XP via USB? And to linux via ethernet? Maybe the printer has decided to "listen" to the USB connection only, and is therefore "busy" as far as the ethernet connection is concerned.
If you think about it, what would the printer do if asked by XP to print a document at the same time cups was asking it to print?
Maybe your printer's menus have an option for selecting USB or ethernet connection, you should check this.
Does it work any better of you unplug the XP connection, and reboot the printer with just ethernet & linux connected?

Edit: Another thought, shouldn't the printer port be addy.of.printer:9100 as 631 is cups' port?

Thanks - should clarify that the printer is connected to USB port on the NAS. I've been searching and it looks like other people have the same issue - I'll try synology tech support.
