hey, i got a question, i got slackware 9.1 installed

but my internet/downloading goes max at 2.6 kb/s :( ,

does any1 knows what the problem can be? i've read somewhere that it can be that my network card isn't fully supported.... could it be this?

Welcome to LQ.

Perhaps you could tell us what software you are downloading with and from where?

What hardware are you using? Perhaps you could post the output from:
ethtool eth0

thx for the welcome

my output from echtool ech0 is
Code:

ethtool eth0
Settings for eth0:
No data available

i use a 10 mb pci network card, don't know the manufacturer, have to check

when i use mozilla or konqueror or any browser, it is all the same speed, and if i download something it is also max at 2.6 kb/s from places where i download on windows at 600 kb/s ++

The model number would possibly help. you may want to try upgrading to the lastest kernel from:
http://www.kernel.org

@1st : try ¨mii-tool¨ (for deitals: ¨man mii-tool¨ :)
@2nd : you don have to use the latest kernel if your card arent unusial ,
try to recompile your slackware default kernel 2.4.22 :

and at di85, currently at win, and i have no clue how to recompile my kernel :)
