[slack 10] setting standard gateway while using dhcp lease

Hi

Since a while i have been using linux, more in the sence of: "install
dont mess too much around and be happy".... and i am happy

I use my linux laptop on my work to surf and listen to radio stream from a popular station here in holland...
But since last week we changed something in our network setup so that the clients are forced to only use the proxy server....
i dont want to use the proxy server, tho my collegue is the one that is the one in controll over the logs, i dont want it logged what i do (paranoid mode)

I am using a DHCP ip address so there will never be a conflict on the network with my ip address, but since the default gateway changed i cant go on internet anymore....
i know that if i set the default gateway manually it will work
but i dont know how to set it with keeping my dhcp settings

i dont remember either anymore how i had to set an ip address, i know it was a "graphical" tool in a terminal window.

i searched for: setting default gateway with dhcp lease and some variants on it but that gives me results for dhcp servers....

i have read the solution on the slackware site, they updated it after i checked it the last time

in the rc.inet1 is a line telling GATEWAY="" fill in the IP there and it should work
