[acx100/dwl520+] configuration problems (?)

hello,
i try to get my dwl-520+ working with mandrake 9.1.

i use the acx100.sf.net*-driver. it seems like the driver loads correctly (and i can't find anything wrong in the log files...)

some extracts:

Quote:
dmesg:
acx100: It looks like you were coaxed into buying a wireless network card
acx100: that uses the mysterious ACX100 chip from Texas Instruments.
acx100: You should better have bought e.g. a PRISM(R) chipset based card,
acx100: since that would mean REAL vendor Linux support.
acx100: Given this info, it's plain evident that this driver is EXPERIMENTAL,
acx100: thus your mileage may vary. Visit acx100.sf.net* for support.

this looks all right i think..

maybe here is the problem. ifup "hangs up"?

iwconfig tells me...

Quote:
[root@Florian ich]# iwconfig eth1
eth1 IEEE 802.11b ESSID:"wxllxxt" Nickname:"Florian"
Mode:Managed Channel:6 Access Point: 00:00:00:00:00:00

Tx excessive retries:0 Invalid misc:0 Missed beacon:0
google told me, that this "00:00:00:00:00:00" would appear if the encryption-key was wrong, but i disabled encryption in my access point at this time.

i did
iwconfig eth1 essid wxllxxt
a couple of times, but not even the light on my dwl-520+ wakes up.

if you need more information, just tell me.

thanks in advance!
(and sorry for my bad English )

PS: of course wxllxxt is my essid.

[edit: problem not solved, but card changed. now i need help with MA311... ]
