I am soo fed up with @home (err ATTBI).. Ever since @home died my service has gone downhill. I havent hit over 200kbps (i used to get 700!) and still upload at 15kbps. My current setup is:
CABLE MODEM -> ROUTER -> My computers

Since the router takes care of getting the ip from ATTBI, all I have to do is type 'dhcpcd' or specify the ip for it to use (linuxconf) to connect to the router. My LAN is much more stable than my connection. I highly recommend the Linksys BEFSR41 (now like $70 @ amazon.com)

This service was the best when it was still under the name "MediaOne Express" if you can remember back in the day.
