'smbclient -M' does not work!?

Hello!

I am in a small (200 machines) local network. The most are under Win32 and they
can intercourse using WinPopUp. I found command 'smbclient -M nmbname' but it
produces an error:

session request failed

If I type an inexistent hostname instead of a proper nmbname I got:

Connection to nmbname failed

I tried strictly assign IP-address or use -n option but in vain.

A strange fact. I can deliver messages to another machine under Linux,
asserting its samba is properly configured and is able to receive my message.
I tried linpopup as well with the same result.

Why cannot I chat with Win32?

Please to post there any suggestions.
