Would it be possible installing Android from a running LiveCD on desktop PC?
Hi all,
Android android-x86_64-6.0-r2.iso burned on USB
Wireless keyboard and wireless mouse
Desktop PC
Boot up Android. The hard disk is detected.
Select install Android on disk
-> OK
on next screen both wireless keyboard and wireless mouse unable to work. TAB and UP/DOWN key all fail to work.
I can boot up Android. It works as LiveCD.
Is it possible to install Android on hard disk from there, including formatting the hard disk? If YES, please advise how? Pointers would be appreciated.
Typically, my Logitech wireless USB mouse does not work in dos mode applications, including linux/windows installers, because the drivers for such are usually not included with installation media, so I instinctively always plug in hardwired mouse. The keyboard which is part of the set with the mouse does work, no need to ask why because I don't know at this point but if you push me hard enough I'll figure it out....eventually, the weather man says we have a few more days of balmy weather so it won't be soon.
The Android download page does mention live and installation ISO, but there is no link to Android android-x86_64-6.0-r2, latest available iso is android-x86_64-6.0-r1.iso. If the version you have has live and installer, there would likely be a menu item you would select to initiate an installation, some distributions have an icon on the desktop to initiate the installation.

Hi,
I used wired mouse and keyboard to install;
Android android-x86_64-6.0-r2.iso
also tried
android-x86_64-6.0-r1.iso.
on hard drive.
Installation went through without problem. But I couldn't boot neither of them, always looking for boot loader.
However the amazing thing is I could install both on VM of VirtualBox. They boot without problem after installation. The steps of installation were the same. I couldn't resolve the problem.
I did that before on same PC. Now I'm installing Android on another PC with different hardware configuration. Besides this is ONLY a test. Android is designed for mobile phone, still having some problem running on PC.
On the Android running VM I still face some problem, in particular sharing folders. I have tried several routes including USB route without success. On Oracle forum the moderator advised me that they are NOT supporting Android on VM for the time being.
