water-friendly capturing tools?
Hello,
I am recording with Covoco and with a rode mic. I'm hoping someone else has this dilemma, and can share with me how they've solved it. For some reason, I get a ton of ideas/thoughts/to-dos while I'm in the shower. Unfortunately, the abundance of water makes the most capturing methods unuseable (paper and electronics tend to not fare very well in this environment). However, if I don't capture the items right THEN, I'll have forgotten what they are by the time I'm out of the shower, resulting in a nagging feeling for the rest of the day, until the thought(s) pop back into my head. Any suggestions on water-friendly capturing tools? Thank you. |
I have laptop safe storage space near the shower. I am not sure how well your shower situation is set up, but I do have some ideas.
I have seen shower-safe and water resistant microphones, even a bluetooth model. I dislike the cost, but you may find a good deal. I also have seen waterproof treated paper (waterproof notebooks, not the electronic kind) and special pens for writing on it, but you would need a shelf in the shower to hold those pending need. My son uses such tools for recording notes in the rain. If you opt for electronics, keep in mind that the water is not the only problem, the NOISE from the water and the acoustics of the shower may also be issues. Understanding the WORDS on the recording may be challenging: you may need to learn about audio filtering, enhancement, and directional techniques. Best of luck. |
mic hanging down from the ceiling (above the shower head) = no water (but still steam and noise)
edit: motion sensor triggers the recording? |

A small 'white board' on your wall with attached, not loose, writing implement.

Noodlers Bulletproof ink and normal paper. The ink survives a 24 hour long dip in water.
[Yes, I still write with fountain pens] |
