Lightbulb Using Nokia 6303 as a modem to access net in linux ??

Hi friends,
Iam trying to use my nokia mobile to access net using GPRS connection.
I have connected my mobile with my laptop (fedora 11).

modified the /etc/wvdial.conf file
[Dialer Defaults]
Modem = /dev/ttyACM0
Baud = 460800
Init1 = ATZ
Init2 = ATQ0 V1 E1 S0=0 C1 D2 +FCLASS=0
ISDN = 0
Modem Type = Analog Modem
Phone = *99#
Username = username
Password = password
Stupid Mode = 1

and tried to do
#wvdial
WvDial<*1>: WvDial: Internet dialer version 1.56
WvModem<*1>: Cannot get information for serial port.
WvDial<*1>: Initializing modem.
WvDial<*1>: Sending: ATZ
WvDial Modem<*1>: ATZ
WvDial Modem<*1>: OK
WvDial<*1>: Sending: ATQ0 V1 E1 S0=0 &C1 &D2 +FCLASS=0
WvDial Modem<*1>: ATQ0 V1 E1 S0=0 &C1 &D2 +FCLASS=0
WvDial Modem<*1>: OK
WvDial<*1>: Modem initialized.
WvDial<*1>: Sending: ATDT*99#
WvDial<*1>: Waiting for carrier.
WvDial Modem<*1>: ATDT*99#
WvDial Modem<*1>: CONNECT
WvDial Modem<*1>: ~[7f]}#@!}!} } }2}#}$@#}!}$}%\}"}&} }*} } g}%~
WvDial<*1>: Carrier detected. Starting PPP immediately.

WvDial<*1>: pppd: [06][08]ؗ[06][08]

WvDial<*1>: pppd: [06][08]ؗ[06][08]
WvDial<*1>: primary DNS address 121.1.3.208
WvDial<*1>: pppd: [06][08]ؗ[06][08]
WvDial<*1>: secondary DNS address 121.1.3.199
WvDial<*1>: pppd: [06][08]ؗ[06]

Now i got IP, Primary DNS, Secondary DNS.
Then i tried to connect to internet using network connection tool at the top right icon which looks like "one monitor behind the another".
The problem is once i click that icon, iam getting "Packet data service ended" in my mobile screen.

What may be the problem....?
Thanks in advance

Once you establish the connection using wvdial, you do not need to use any other tools or clients (such as the gnome network manager) and using others it will in fact as youve found out disconnect the service.

Once wvdial gives you the above output, have you tried testing the internet?

If the service is not working, run ip route to see if there is a correct route put in place for the newly established connection.

Thanks Morphix, once i got the ip as you said there is no need of network connectivity tool, directly open mozilla and uncheck work offline in file menu and start browsing. It works fine for me.

Even if it is nokia mobile modem or EVDO-USB modem both will work.

Thanks
