When will the Ubuntu Phone get to the USA Phone carriers.

if you can't wait you can buy Nokia N9 with linux second hand meanwhile.

At this point no Ubuntu Phone exists.

Ubuntu does have instructions for flashing your phone, but it seems still to be under development, so I'd do it on an older phone, not your primary one. They had hoped to build a phone of their own, the Ubuntu Edge, but fell short of their fundraising goal (by about $20 million).

I'd rather try Firefox OS on a phone, personally, but it's exciting just to have options other than Android.

Companies getting into the mobile phone business is not an easy task especially when iphones and androids are market leaders. Ubuntu and firefox phones need to show something unique to them that IOS and android doesn't have or they will be just two more competitors. I wish them luck.

I wouldn't mind trying an ubuntu or firefox phone if and when available. If the price is right, I'll try it.

One more thing Ubuntu currently is available only for Galaxy Nexus & Galaxy 4.
