Unhappy static IP how-to

Now, starting my android ICS in (DEBUG) mode, and typing the commands: netcfg all my interface IPs are

So I tried :

netcfg eth0 dhcp
netcfg eth0 up

But It does not work. So next, I am trying to setup a static IP address in the Linux configuration files:

cd /etc/sysconfig/networking/devices

but I can only get as far as:

but not matching IP configuration files.
How should I setup/configure a dynamic or static IP in adroid ICS running in VirtualBox ?

android, mobile, networking
