pairing my phone
 

Can someone help me pair my mobile phone so I can get some service, my mac address to the phone is 18:3b:d2:0c:f7:31, and the bluetooth address is 18:3b:d2:0b:0e:ea.The phone is a motorola wx445, I have backtrack linux 4 but it seems that the hcitool has been deleted or removed I tried several times and it didn't work. So I was wondering if someone with a linux workstation with bluetooth can pair the phone for me so I could get some telephone service, thanks a lot.

why on earth are you broadcasting your phone number to the world? I hope this is actually a joke and if someone calls that they get a George Bush impersonator or something.

I'm have a similar issue, except I'm not sure I'm in the right place....
Devices: LG Optimus T(P509) + HP G60 Laptop + Bluetooth Dongle
Laptop OS: Ubuntu 11.04
Android OS: Buudoh V2 (Custom)
I can 'locate' my P509 via laptop, but when trying to pair the P509 an error is displayed: "com.android.settings" or something to that effect.

The P509 will pair with other devices, just not this one.
Is this something I can change with Ubuntu, or is this NEW dongle the issue?

EDIT: By the way, I did try fixing the permission with two different methods:
Android Terminal Emulator: #fix_permissions
ROM Manager: "Fix Permissions"...which indicated a sound resolution...but same issue with bluetooth.

The duplicate post in <Linux-General> has been closed. So has the one in <Linux-Networking>. This is now the correct thread.

Well, I found the solution to this after all: It was the Android OS that I chose. Switched to Cyanogenmod 7 ... all is well. Thanks anyway.
