paired but not connected

I have a motorola pcs mobile phone, I tried pairing it with Linux, Ubuntu but to no avail that didn't work. So I downloaded the Sena-BTerm bluetooth software from the Android market, I got the phone to pair with other devices but it will not connect. Anyone can HELP?

You have the appropriate stuff running & configured? Bluezd & obexftp?

There are some nightmares with sensitive drivers - my son went thriough about 17 installs of windoze playing with _this_ driver and _that_ bluetooth stack before he gave up and bought another bluetooth device.
