Nokia N900 connecting to Ubuntu 9.10 via USB

I want to be able to access my home drive on my n900 through linux. You can connect it as a mass storage device but you can't access the rest of the filing system. What software would be best to enable me to copy music and data to my phones home folder?

I think this is what you're looking for: http://wiki.maemo.org/N900_USB_networking

It seems that you use the usb as a regular network connection. Then you can use ftp or scp to transfer your files.
