Linux on small electronics

Hi all,

I am a fan of PALM devices like Treo 650, Treo 700wx and use a Palm Life Drive a lot for reading e-books and for keeping contacts. (Many other good programs still available for it as well.) I also have a Dell Axim x51v that I picked up for the high performance aspects for that size Pocket PC device.

Granted, both designs are limited for RAM space. Has anyone gotten a unit to run wifi or similar programs with Linux? I tried cocoboot on the Life Drive a year or so back with poor results. Are they totally abandoned or is anyone trying to work with them?

I hope someone else in here is a fan of these...

Cheers,

With as cheap and powerful as mobile devices are anymore, there is very little work done with such outdated hardware. The best I could find was some progress made on porting Android to the Axim that seems like it died off in 2010:

I would say if the devices still serve some use to you as they are, consider yourself lucky and keep on using them. Doesn't look like there is much else to go on.
