Linux Based Computer System-Automobiles

As more & more cars have computers in them for just about any reason, what is their OS base (if it's even classified as an OS??

How hard would it be to install Linux (or even Unix) on such/said computer?

-Is anyone already working on that?

-If a "Beta" Test Driver is needed, I'm more than willing to take it for a "test drive".

The Tesla runs linux but it is a Real Time Operating System (RTOS). There are a lot of processors in a modern car and most of them do not have an operating system. There are probably other automobile manufactures that use linux but if your asking about someone installing a desktop version then it would be much harder than you think.

Thumbs up

The most expensive parts of Teslas are the electronics so it is good they have Linux!
