input/output error while reading flags

I mounted my android phone via jmtpfs and can browse the files in thunar filemanager just fine. The issue appears when attempting to copy files from the phone to PC. What's weird is it gives the 'input/output error while reading flags on /mnt/myfile.mp3' a bunch of times, but every once in a while it will copy just fine without any error. Checking the sha256sum shows there is nothing wrong with the integrity of the successfully copied file, and clamscan checked the phone and found no virus. Booting with another kernel and trying to copy has had the same issue. The phone plays the music files just fine. So this leads me to believe there is some compatibility issue with the kernel drivers or something?
