I would like to put Ubuntu Linux on my mobile devices but am running into confusing questions

Hi,I've been concerned with the rise in threats directed towards Android but have been told that since Android already uses a Linux kernel there won't be any difference in level of security.

Also, I understand that installing Ubuntu Linux is tricky and it can be unstable...and that Ubuntu no longer maintains the program.

Lastly, I am wondering if it will be compatible with my mobile provider's app that manages my accounts.

I really would like to use Ubuntu Linux on my phone and tab, but am still only getting a lot of vagueness in what I've been able to find so far, so would be grateful for your illumination on this issue for me! Thanks!

this is wrong on at least two levels:
  • the kernel used on android devices is not the same as used by Linux distros, and even between distros kernels differ. a lot.
  • security is a very broad and fuzzy topic, and it is not only a kernel thing.

you can't just install ubuntu on any android device.
unlike with PCs, it is all very device-specific.
what program?

Here is a list of supported devices: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Catego..._Touch_devices

(I'm sharing this information for historical/educational purposes only, as Canonical has discontinued Ubuntu Touch.)
