Does anyone if kindle fire uses google play market for installing apps


what's up,

the subject line pretty much tells it. I am thinking of buying one.

It does not. The Kindle Fire uses Amazon's own app store. However, if you can download a regular android app to the Fire, you can install it and (unless it requires some functionality not present on the Fire, such as GPS) it should work. That's how I managed to install Dropbox on my Fire.

Thanks adamk75 for the info.

BTW, do you know if Arctools is available in the android store. This app will install Google/play market. I did this with an archos tablet way back which had only the applibs market.

I was researching and most of the links said to root the device. I don't like rooting devices unless it's 100% guarantee to work.

In this day of age, the google play market should be on any android tablet and not use third party markets. Even the cheapest smartphones have google play play market.

Since the kindle fire will not have google play I will seek other tablet(s)
