do any tablets use a keyboard to read amazon ebooks on?
 

i am looking for a new tablet-sizws computer that has a keyboard. i have realized that the 7-inch tablets move by using one's fingers. is this correct? the reason i was able to earn a decent living all these years was because i knew how to type. swiping my fingers is awkward for me given my disability. i am thinking of getting the AMAzon Kindle tablet so that i can buy and listen to books. i CAN read; it is just not as easy as being-read-to by the computer speaker... . Do any of these flat tablets have a plugin where i can use USB connection?

i think the dos/windows thing has a keyboard that has a fold-away keyboard. my question is: can i install any version of linux or BSD on the windows computers and then install the ebook materials? --yes, i am guilty of not having kept up with the newer hardware.

You can buy cases that have built in keyboards that connect via USB or Blueooth, but most tablets tend to have a software keyboard. The older black and white Kindles came with an onboard hardware keyboard and you may be able to get one new or used.

You can use Linux on a device with a keyboard to read books purchased from Amazon and Calibre or something else for epub. As far as I know there isn't yet an Amazon app for reading purchased books offline on Linux.

if i buy a new kindle ebook reader, i would rather it *just display* or using its built-in voice, *just read* to me. i have seen the fake keyboards that are simply an image of a keyboard. Can i configure this onboard drawing so that each key "clicks" or makes aa noise so that i know i have actually hit the key?

While I am not sure I understand your question, I will say

Every cheap tablet I have purchased that has USB port(s) will recognize an external keyboard and allow you to use it instead of the 'software' type... and the Android settings DO include a keyboard 'click' sound, tho I am not sure if it works on an external...

They also usually recognize an external mouse and then do not require 'swiping'...

If you're needing/wanting it to do the reading, you might want to go with the Kindle, since it was designed with that capability in mind.
