Createing an android widget

So i'm trying to create an widget that displays lyrics on your home screen and i'm not quite sure what to do exactly I was trying to use the app inventor but i'm not sure thats helping. The basic idea is to have it call on a website and display its contents scrollable. I want it to work with the default android player... i've been reading the google doc but i'm still confused
