best is for Sony xperia c

I use debian wheezy in my desktop.I have a Sony xperia c mobile.
Can I install any Open source os on my mobile?
Is it safe?
Is it stable like Linux on desktop and laptop or still unstable?
I don't want to install os within android.I want to replace android with open source alternatives.

I want to use WiFi and WiFi hotspot too.
Pls give me the list of open source os's and risks associated with them.

Android IS open source:

...and has been. If you want another OS on your device, then you'll first have to figure out if your device can even support one, which is likely since it's android now. Cyanogenmod has a release for it.

Ok, so go ahead and do it.

Read the LQ Rules about text speak..it's "please" not "pls". And if you want a list of OS'es and their flaws, then go look them up...don't ask us to do it for you.
