android: mic mutes when external speakers plugged in.
hi, i have a samsung galaxy s2. when i plug something into the headphone jack (oldskool cassette adapter) the mic also mutes making it impossible to use hands-free while i am driving. i looked in the seetings but i dont see anything about how to change that setting ?
I would look at the jack connected to your device, and note how many sleeves are on it, among the wiring and how it is connected. It may just be a hardware problem as such; Have you tried any other connectors?
thanks corp. i thought of that. the cassette adapter only has 2 black lines for stereo (no mic input channel). so i assume the phone should just ignore the missing channel but it mutes it for some strange reason.
i'll try it with a pair of headphones and see.
edit: it just started working normally in my car... maybe some app was blocking the mic and required a restart ?
