Android apps on Ubuntu Touch

Hi! I was thinking about buying a smartphone with a completely open source OS (such as Ubuntu Touch, or PinePhone), and I was wondering if I can install android applications APKs on it, or they won't work? The fact is that I saw the apps in the store of Ubuntu Touch and some other OS but there are still a lot of missing useful apps, also the open source ones are missing. Will the android APK work on some of these OS?
