adding user to sudoers file in moblin

I've been playing around with Moblin v2 alpha on my acer aspire one, and I can't get anything to install. I really only want Flash on it at this point - but I can't install it due to not being in the sudoers file. I tried a couple of things and bricked it so I'm on a clean install.

Any ideas are appreciated.

why dont you install it as root?

Usually root user is not supplied with the password on some distributions and hence it is not possible to login as root. For that you need sudo. You could use su or su -.
To edit the sudoers file you can do that by visudo command.

I tried using the root account but then apt-get won't run at all (says it can't find the command?), and I've read about visudo but can't get it to tun either. It's on the install, but I am stepping outside my current knowledge of Linux here - all I found was a file visudo.8.gz.....
