8 years late and several megabytes short

I just found a Mio P550 in a car boot sale. I thought not bad for £15 but it is in Polish. I can't see if I can change Windows Mobile into English from Polish and found no such instructions online.

Also to compound the curve, I am unable to access an Office Libre file explaining the hardware because I am using a British library computer.

with 128 meg of RAM and very little native ability, can I get it up and running with something useful in English?

Or is it just not worth the bother. As a Tom Tom clone it works OK if I can learn enough Polska.

Sorry but it does not look like you can change the language, as the specifications dictate "Operating System Language - Dutch". You may try re-installing Windows Mobile, but honestly, I would say its not worth the bother.

Has no mention. Some posts suggest you burn a different image. Dunno.

I wouldn't want to reinstall Windows so you are right about it not being worth the bother but as an excersize in installing a real OS it has lots of potential. I have never read of anything like it since I ws reading about Windows CE all those years ago when I was a small boy of 40.

I don't remember much of that except the experience was one of those ME Vista type fiascos apparantly. I'd love to stick a mobile device on it preferably one with a car navigstion gadget. If it all went pear shaped I suppose I might get hold of a Windows Mobile programme somehow.

But I don't imagine I will bother until I get advice an how to do it and what with. There must be a list as long as your arm of systems that would do. Raspberry and Dam Small Linux come to mind. I have no idea and no experience of burning ISOs.

Burning ISO's is not the hard part. Getting them on a PHONE, thats a little tricky. Confirm that this is what you are wanting to do before I list out arm-length instructions on how to do this.

What appears to be the most difficult part is finding information about what is available as an alternative to Windows Mobile on the thing. I don't wantt o go to any bother and have a niusance gadget at the end of it. Doesw anuyone on here know what can and can't be done?
