LMDE is supposed to be as close to the primary/Ubuntu edition of Mint as it can be, so on LQ the best place for any distro-specific questions would be Linux Mint forum - but do make it clear you're running the Debian edition (along with version, DE involved, etc).
Fair enough. This was actually a prelude to a question regarding speeding up the boot process for debian ingeneral and lmde4 specifically. The question might actully belong in sofware asit is to ask about readahead, ureadahead, e4rat, etc. I've done searches on some of the forums but I get way too many results most of which don't even contain the search term and e4rat actually generates only an error message. I'll post my question in software.
