Update Manager not completing refresh of list

2 Attachment(s)
I've had this issue on and off for a few weeks now.
I sometimes see an error on the update icon - a red cross. Other times the icon becomes blank with no colour inside it, not the usual green tick.

I have been using a local mirror for update for months without a problem. Recently it comes up with an error. If I try refresh, it will download what seems to be 99% but never completes.

I have changed the software source back to the default settings. Now that also won't complete.
See the attached screenshot showing (from the default source) what it says is the problem, perhaps this might shed some light on it?

Edit: Added report from Update Manager.
I see this report eventually appears, saying it's a network problem. It seems odd it fails on two different software sources though?

Why do you need the archive.getdeb.net links?
I would disable all of those, unless you have some specific use for them.

Thanks for your reply.

Are you saying it's not a "network problem" then, as it said in the report I attached?

As I'm not really technical, I take it the groups you mentioned are not standard? I don't know why they are in the list. It might be something I've added that needs them, but I just wouldn't know.
However, I see the second item on the fail list doesn't appear to be an "archive, getdeb"?

(Edit below)
It has just occurred to me that it isn't my computer that has a problem with this, but it is the Linux update system externally. Am I correct in assuming that?

If you try http://archive.getdeb.net/ in your browser, you will likely get nothing - as I did, so get rid of it.

A bit of investigation reveals:
"Unfortunately due to a power failure with complete data loss both, the GetDeb and the PlayDeb projects were discontinued."

"Sometimes due to server issues the repositories may be down again for some time. Then we have to wait patiently until they will operate again. Watch out for news on their projekt page or in posts from getdeb in Google+."

TxLonghorn, Thanks for your help with this.

I followed your advice about removing the Getdeb packages. It took a while for me to discover how to do it, but I got there in the end. I went to Edit>Software Sources>Additional Repositories and I deleted the Getdeb option.

I've also changed back to using software sources local to me in Thailand.

It all works fine now. Thanks again.
