Unable to logout of Icewm session after running Nautilus

I have installed Icewm to give me more system resources for certain memory hungry tasks. But I've noticed that if I open the file manager (Nautilus) in Icewm then my desktop gets reconfigured to look like my Gnome desktop and I can't log out of the current session when I've finished. This only happens after running Nautilus in Icewm. Any advice on what to do about it would be appreciated.

If you are worried about using too many system resources, then you should use pcmanfm instead of nautilus.

Thanks for the reply.

I have thought about a lightweight file manager. I take it pcmanfm is the Gentoo file manager. Does this work OK with Icewm or are you using a different wm?

Would you know if it's necessary to uninstall Nautilus or would the two fms live in harmony? You see my wife will still use the Gnome desktop. She isn't a fan of lightweight wms.

pcmanfm is the LXDE file manager.

They will coexist just fine.

The problem with nautilus is that it wants to control the desktop, which is not the ideal situation when not using GNOME.

You could look at the man page for nautilus, I think that you can launch nautilus with --no-desktop (or something of that sort,) yet I think that you will be better served using pcmanfm.

The only dependency of pcmanfm is libfm.
