Yes - as ferrari says: by CR I was simply meaning to press one of the "Enter" keys - writing "Enter" just seemed a little too lowbrow for these august forums
.
And yes, ondoho: Suspend might well not shut the FX-4350 box down
totally (ie as in PowerOff/unplugthe240VAC) - and I haven't yet put my plugin/240Vpassthrough ammeter gizmo onto the box's power plug to see if it
is still drawing a few milliamps - which it may well still be doing - my new Ubuntu cancerphone (a Nexus5 running UBPorts
) still seems to be getting a charge feed (through its miniHDMI or whatever the plug is) in the Suspend/Shutdown? state from a USB socket on both the FX-4350 and the 2400G boxes - "enable power supply to USB in the S3&S5 states", I think it's called in the bios.
But when I click Suspend on the FX-4350box the fans stop working, the monitor turns off, the power to my beautiful microswitch LEDbacklit keyboard turns off etc etc - so to all intents and purposes it has "turned off". And it Resumes again (immediately waking up the monitor from its "Sleep" state) at the press of an Enter key, to give a fully functioning desktop within 2or3seconds - though it
does take a few more seconds to get the eth0/www connection working/connected again.
Which the new 2400G/nvme box (that I just couldn't resist building
) cannot do - ie it doesn't seem to have any practical/working/useful Suspend&Resume function. And, as I say, after initially giving some amazingly fast winDoze&linux bootup times (after its very long/tedious bios time delay) it is now pausing/"hanging" for 30seconds or so at some point in its Mint18 bootup. Which to a large extent negates the whole point of assembling the 2400G/nvme box.

hmm, i need to push the power button to resume from suspend.

I would think that every box+bios+OS setup would probaby have a different keystroke/buttonsequence for its Resume from HibernateorSuspend function/s.
Quote:
The events that trigger a resume depend on the hardware, and/or what is enabled in the BIOS...
Code:
cat /proc/acpi/wakeup

Will go and have a look at that now - that might be the link/file that my original post was asking about - thanx for that, ferrari.
