Screensavers on Linux do not work like screensavers on Windows. One does not randomly install third-party software and have multiple separate screensaver programs.
Most of the native Mint screensavers are respins of the Gnome-screensaver, which itself is a lamer limited respin of
Jamie Zawinski's xscreensaver.
Open the Synaptic Package Manager and remove the default screensaver package(s) and install xscreensaver and its related data packages. You will then have hundreds of screensavers to choose from and play with.
