Remote Desktop (VNC)...
I have Linux Mint 7 and wondering how come on my Windows it won't connect to my Linux. I am using the program RealVNC Viewer. So I was seeing if someone can give me a step by step of how to do that? I am new so thank you for your help.

Not for Mint http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/VNC-Server

Okay, What is a good OS for my windows can connect to my Linux?
Sorry - the link I gave you was for setting it up under CentOS. I meant the link was not a howto for Mint, not that you couldn't use Mint.
I would expect that the howto should be pretty much straight applicable to Mint. Sorry about the confusion |
So if I use that link I can get my VNC working in Mint 7?
You could try it for a start.
The "Yum" command doesn't work for me.
No, you would use apt-get or similar.
Sorry I am really new to this and I can't get either one to do anything.

I guess kind of helped, but still can't connect to my Linux through Windows.
You're going to have to give way more information than that if you want any help.

Okay lets see. I am using Linux Mint 7. I want to have my Windows Vista connect to my Linux via VNC. On my Windows Vista I have RealVNC installed. When I try to connect using RealVNC I get an error saying can't connect. I have opened all the ports I need on my 2WIRE router. I want to control my Linux on my Windows. When I use the Terminal it says it can't install VCN-Server. I believe I need that program in order to connect from my Windows to my Linux. I can't for some reason. I want to know how I can.

Do you have vino installed (as per the 2nd link I gave you)?
I believe so. I have a Remote Desktop program that I am guessing is it.
