No music in 4th generation iPod touch after sync with Banshee.

Hello everyone, after multiple failed attempts at trying to install Slackware, I just decided to stick with Linux Mint until I get an ethernet connection so I can install Arch Linux.

Anyway, I found my 4th generation iPod touch, and since I added like 100 songs to my music library, I decided I should update my iPod's music library as well.

However, after about two hours worth of sync time and the music was supposedly written to the device according to Banshee, I checked my Music app on my iPod to see if the new songs I added were in there. Nothing was there, but the album artwork got mixed up.

I just thought it was the firmware as I was on 4.3.3 and Ubuntu's documentation said that I might incur errors if I update to anything after iOS 4.2.X. I downgraded to 4.2.1, using my older sister's MacBook Pro, and tried using Rhythmbox this time. According to Rhythmbox, it said my iPod needs to be initialized before I can use it.

I skipped over it, tried syncing once again, and the same thing happened. Results were inconclusive. Does anyone know what I should do?

Strangely, it shows up in Nautilus as a mass storage device, I see the music in the iTunes_Control folder where they're supposed to be (in the F00 - F49 folders). I fail to see how this could not work, unless my iPod was formatted for use with OSX instead of Linux or something.

that's for iTunes & not iPod
But the principle is the same,

because Apple uses hidden folders and goofy file names to store music on the device.

so, basically - it's iSoftware & M$ware
