Mint Cinnamon 19 wireless connection module issue
Two of my workplaces have a "business" connection that require both a username and a password. Cinnamon 19 is unable to connect to this, Mate 19 has no problem.
Thinkpads T410 and X61T, both wireless N, same result on both. Issue solved by switching to Mate. |
Should have added more detail:
In Cinnamon, the SSID's all appear, but it does not connect. The loading icon (spinning wheel) keeps going but the icon for settings never loads. In Mate the settings icon loads and I can then choose settings (eg. check No CA certif required) and fill in the username and password. So there is no issue with the wireless card or driver. |
Wi Fi
I am having basically the same issue. I just installed Cinnamon on my laptop. It won't detect my wi fi. Network shows only cable connection, unplugged. Is there any way to change the distro?

I took the simple path of reinstalling because it was a raw install - nothing much done with it yet. If you look in the software manager there are some other wireless connection modules available. I would try them one by one until you get one that works. And if you find one, please post back with the name so others can use it if they find this thread.
