LMDE: One display adapter with two desktops. Keyb/mouse locked on one desktop.

Hello there.

I wish to configure LMDE (currently running GDM, but this is not a must) as a gallery computer which has a HD flatpanel TV connected to DVI and a monitor connected to D-Sub. The flatpanel TV is going to show pictures on a loop and the monitor is supposed to be available for regular desktop use, so locking the keyboard and mouse to the monitor desktop is preferable.

Is this possible without a secondary display adapter?

As long as the mouse can't move over to the desktop area connected to the DVI port all is as it should be.

All help is greatly appreciated.
