Linux mint installation hangs
Mint installation 14 32 bit installation fails after it is finished installing.
It just stays there and the waiting icon is spinning forever so I hit the "start" menu and reboot. Seems like to bootloader didnt install, so I try to go back into a live session but the computer hangs at the linux mint window after the 8 second countdown. What can I do to go back into the live cd and; What can I do to avoid the installaion from freezing when its done? |

So are you saying I should login as root before performing a live install? or installing Mint 13 kde?

I will stick with version 13. |
Every time I have installed Linux Mint, there would be a message window indicate the install had completed and asking if I wanted to continue using the Live CD or reboot. Is this what you saw and when you clicked the reboot tab, it didn't?
You could try hitting the Enter key instead of waiting for the countdown. You could also post some info on your hardware, how old/new is this computer, type, RAM, etc. |

No the two distributions are dead as a parrot they do not show any screens whatsoever. The Mint distro works OK. I got the disc with the Linux Format Magazine, that usually is very reliable. I have received the magazine early on subscription when it gets to the shops there are going to be many unhappy bunnies its the lead feature how good it is. Mine is a three month old HP 635 notebook. |
