Question Linux Mint Gloria and Realtek RTL8168C(P)/8111C(P) Wireless Problems... Is It Solved?

Hello,

My question is exactly that one. But here, I'll re-state in more detail:

I have an Asus G50V Laptop with a "Realtek RTL8168C(P)/8111C(P) Family PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet NIC (NDIS 6.0)" network adapter.

The issue now is that I want to give Linux Mint Gloria a try, but first I would like to know if the problem with the "Realtek RTL8168C(P)/8111C(P) Family PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet NIC (NDIS 6.0)" network adapter has been solved for this new release of Linux Mint.

Now, last time I installed Linux Mint, the previous version to Linux Mint Gloria (whose name I do not remember), the adapter did not work... I came to these forums and found a possible solution, but I was confused a bit by it, and desisted on any further efforts to correct it.

If I can find the solution within my posts in these forums, I'll edit this post by pasting the solution, this so that it may help other users that have the same problem I had. Hopefully they will not be confused... the problem was not the information, it was me being unable to read it correctly. However, that is not the point of this post.

Please let me know if the "Realtek RTL8168C(P)/8111C(P) Family PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet NIC (NDIS 6.0)" network adapter problem has been solved for Linux Mint Gloria.

Edit: As Promised, here is the previous solution. I remember now why I did not understand, it was because of some problem with how the website was being displayed, here is the link: http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...-mint.-721639/
Please remember, that I still have the question whether the problem has been solved for the new version, or not. Thanks.

Thanks in advance,
MexDeath.

Does anyone know if the problem has been solved? A lot of people have looked at the post, yet, no replies.

Anyone Please? Is this group dead? I thought Linux Mint was one of the Distributions working with this forum.

I'll re-state my question, have the problems with Linux Mint Gloria and the "Realtek RTL8168C(P)/8111C(P) Family PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet NIC (NDIS 6.0)" Network Adapter been resolved?

Thanks,

MexDeath.

I don't have the network adapter you're talking about, so I don't know for sure that it won't work out of the box on Gloria, but I'm guessing from reports of it not working on Ubuntu Jaunty (which Gloria is based on) that it will not.

However, as this forum entry confirms, the script which you have been directed to before (here) solves the problem. I am therefore not sure what your question is. If you are having difficulty following the instructions, it would be best to specify what the difficulty is here and then perhaps someone can help.

I thank you, greatly. However, I decided to go "brute-force" on this and just try it. It works now!!!
About the script I was directed to... I could not understand it because the page loads up weird in most any computer/system that I browse it in, for reasons I dont know.

Thanks again,

MexDeath.
