Linux Mint Debian 201012

Hi
Quick question: does it matter whether i have an intel or an amd-chip if i want to install Mint Debian 201012 64bit? The ending of the iso file's name got me worried.

I'm guessing that the ending is something like amd64. That is due to the fact that AMD created the 64 bit extensions to the Intel x86 32 bit instructions. However Intel adopted these extensions so there is no difference in the instructions for the x86_64 CPUs.

So no there is no functional difference between AMD 64 bit processors and the Intel x86 64 bit processors.

If you see an ISO file for IA64 architecture then that refers to the Intel Itanium CPUs.
